In the middle practice today I ran out of fuel. I towed and got out of the car. After the tow, the race button lit and I clicked it. The engine was running so I put it in gear and pulled forward, not very far, and was out of fuel, again. Repeat the process, and each time the car has just enough fuel to pull out of the pit stall, maybe farther. It did this several times! Something to remember during the weekend race, where you will probably run out of fuel.
Another thing, one of the times the fuel "ran out" and the engine got quiet, I kept the throttle on and the car still accelerated uphill. That was strange. Saved a replay.

the acceleration uphill was most likley the MGU powering the engine it does to try kick start the engine if it stalls im pretty sure

Have to remember that this is a hybrid vehicle. If the powered portion of the vehicle still has available power, it can still propel the vehicle forward, regardless of it's inclination. At least until it runs out of power. As for the pit stall bit. It's probably getting that minor bit of MGU power reserve that starts it, then peters out right away.
